| Annika Tudeer Att vara cool i barer - 10 år med Oblivia From grand ideas to minimalistic expression: the book Att vara cool i barer- 10 år med Oblivia follows a decade of performance company Oblivia’s work. Starting out in year 2000 by working out dogmas for the art form and for the ideal working environment - friendly, uncompromising and openminded, Oblivia started by creating site-specific work performed only in daylight with live music - if even that. Over the years Oblivia moved on to creating stage works in black boxes. A unique force on the Finnish performance scene, Oblivia has gained international recognition with a body of work that exists between dance, theater and performance art, mixing genres, nationalities and backgrounds. The company creates an exceptional performance language that is both funny and disturbing. As always Oblivia’s audience can expect the unexpected. Att vara cool i barer- 10 år med Oblivia is a collection of essays on subjects connected to Oblivia - space, time, body and politics, as well as texts on the performances. Written by artistic director and founder Annika Tudeer, contributors: Maria Lindh-Garreau, Nora Hämäläinen. The texts are in Swedish, with an English summary. Photographies from ten year with Oblivia are illustrating the book, graphic design by Pia Pettersson. OBLIVIA RF ISBN 978-952-92-7847-3 80 pages, illustrated, paper-bound. Price 22 € |

Annika Tudeer ed. Entertainment Island 6. The Book. Performance-company Oblivia looked into popular culture and entertainment by means of performance, photography and film in the project Entertainment Island spanning over three years. The three performances that emerged from the project were moving from the shiny surface to the murky sub-regions of the entertainment industry and of popular culture. The short-film, seminar and photography exhibition gave different aspects on popular culture and entertainment. In Entertainment Island 6. The Book. Oblivia has collected texts, interviews and round table discussions on the theme and the processes behind the work. One of the questions Oblivia returned to was the difference between art and entertainment. The book is documenting the three-year process with the texts and the photographies by Eija Mäkivuoti. The photos from the exhibition Entertainment Island 5 are included. The book is written in English and edited by Oblivia’s artistic director and founder Annika Tudeer. Contributors: Marja Silde, Krista Petäjäjärvi, Nora Hämäläinen, Eija Mäkivuoti. Graphic design by Pia Pettersson. OBLIVIA RF ISBN 978-952-92-7848-0 80 pages, illustrated, paper-bound. Price 22 € |
